Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alex Marin Design Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you use SPARC (the "App"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
- Company: Alex Marin Design Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13175379.
- Registered office: 4th Floor, 18 St. Cross Street, London EC1N 8UN.
- Contact / data enquiries: hello@getsparc.app.
1. Who this policy is for
The App is intended for adults (18+) who organise family life. Adults create a family space and may add other adults and children as family members. Children do not create their own accounts. If you add a child or another person's details, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
2. The data we collect
You give us:
- Account data — your email address, and an authentication identifier if you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Family & profile data — names, roles (adult/child), and optionally dates of birth, gender, and avatar/photo for each family member, including children.
- Your content — events, tasks, lists, and "moments" (notes and photos you upload).
- Support data — anything you send us when you contact us.
We collect automatically:
- Device & usage data — app version, device type, operating system, and basic diagnostics needed to run and troubleshoot the App.
From third parties:
- Sign-in providers (Apple, Google) confirm your identity and share a limited identifier and, where you allow it, your email.
- App stores (Apple, Google) process any subscription and tell us your subscription status. We do not receive your card or payment details.
3. Children's data
Some data you enter is about children. We only hold it to provide the family-organisation features you ask for. We do not use children's data for marketing, profiling, or advertising, and we do not knowingly let children create their own accounts. As the adult who added a child, you are responsible for that child's information and for deciding what to share within your family space. You can edit or delete it at any time.
4. How we use your data, and our lawful bases
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Create and run your account and family space | Performance of a contract |
| Store and display your events, tasks, lists and moments to your family | Performance of a contract |
| Process subscriptions and confirm entitlements | Performance of a contract |
| Keep the App secure and diagnose problems | Legitimate interests |
| Respond to your support requests | Legitimate interests |
| Sync events to your device / Google calendar (optional) | Consent |
| Send service emails (e.g. sign-in codes) | Performance of a contract |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5. Who we share it with (processors & sub-processors)
We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract, and only as needed to run the App:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (hosting your account, family data and uploaded photos). Region: the United Kingdom.
- Apple and Google — sign-in and subscription/payment processing.
- Expo — app delivery and notifications, if used.
We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. International transfers
Your account and family data are stored in the United Kingdom, the region of our Supabase project. Some providers we rely on — including Apple, Google and Expo — may process limited data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or an adequacy decision.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account (see below) we delete your personal data and uploaded photos, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations (e.g. tax, or records of a transaction). Backups are overwritten on our providers' normal cycles.
8. Deleting your data
You can delete your account and its data from within the App (Settings → Security → Delete account). Deleting the family space removes its events, tasks, lists, moments and uploaded photos. You can also email us at hello@getsparc.app to exercise any of your rights.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level security so a family's data is only visible to that family. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the ICO of any breach where legally required.
10. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these, contact hello@getsparc.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113 — though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.
11. Local storage
The App stores small amounts of data on your device (e.g. your sign-in session and appearance preference) so it works between launches. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you in the App.
